Winegrower and mother Sarah Gough is truly the face of Box Grove Vineyard. Her signaturestatement “My wines are hand crafted from the ground up” exemplifies how Box Grove Vineyard’s wines have been made with utmost care and respect. As we all know, the art ofwinemaking all starts in the vineyard. This is because factors such as the quality of grapesand concentration of soil are the essence of producing wines that burst with vitality, andhave great depth of flavour and complexity.
Box Grove Vineyard is located in the parish of Tahbilk and vines have grown in this area forover 150 years. The region’s proximity to Lake Nagambie and Goulburn River tempers theextreme in cold and heat that can invade many inland regions.
The Rhone varietals – shiraz, roussanne and viognier have found their voice in and aroundTahbilk having grown amongst the tall river red gums for over 100 years. Their white winesare planted on the region’s granite soil, whilst their reds are from deep red soil. Each BoxGrove Vineyard wine clearly reflects its place of origin with authenticity, and creates a senseof serenity as all its elements work together in harmony.
